How Jamie Luner went from being a “No One” to a Hollywood A-lister?
Jamie Luner is a recognized actress in Hollywood who has played several memorable characters on screen. Many of her roles formed long-lasting bound with her viewers across the United States.
It all started with “Just the Ten of Us” when it first aired on April 26, 1988, on ABC. The spin-off shows soon caught the attention of the American people, and it gained immense popularity. The audience loved the story, the setting, the comedy, and the cast.
Among the cast was a beautiful young girl called Jamie Luner, who portrayed Cindy Lubbock on the screen. Cindy was one of the seven kids of Coach Graham T. Lubbock, and the viewer simply loved her. And that’s how Jamie started her journey to stardom.
Jamie as a dreamy-eyed teenager
Looking deeply into her story, Jamie was destined to be on the stage. Her mother, Susan Luner, knew this, and she hired a talent agency for her infant child. Jamie and her mother didn’t have to wait too long as the talent agency brought her the first gig at the age of four. It was a tissue commercial, and she featured opposite Suzanne Somers, where Jamie had to sneeze on cue.
At the age of 15, Jamie participated in a local Shakespeare competition and won. For the first time, Jamie felt a rush, and she wanted to do more. Jamie said, “Performing gave me such a high. My body was tingling.”
Around the same time, Growing Pains, a television sitcom started airing on ABC. Jamie bagged a small role on the show during its first year and appeared a few times. During her blink-and-a-miss appearances on the show, Jamie flew to New York with her mother. There she went to the Professional Children’s School.
Meanwhile, Jamie managed to impress the producers of Growing Pains. And that’s when they signed her as Cindy Lubbock for a spin-off show, Just the Ten of Us.
Rise to stardom
Stardom followed Jamie Luner pretty quickly. In 1989, she won a nomination in the “Best Young Actor/Actress Ensemble in a Television Comedy, Drama Series or Special” category. Just the Ten of Us ran for three successful seasons before it was taken off air in 1991. When it got canceled, Jamie decided to take a break from acting and went to a culinary school. For a brief moment, Jamie worked as a chef at a French restaurant called Drai’s in Los Angeles.
Since then, Jamie has done numerous roles like Lexi Sterling in Melrose Place, Rachel Burke in Profiler, Payton Richards in Savannah. With these and many other roles, she has carved a different niche for herself. Jamie Luner is a stunning woman and fine actor who always aspires to push the boundaries.
